Some of My Friends Read Comics 253 – Swamp Thing by Alan Moore, Vol. 6

We’re finally at the end of Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing! When we last left him, he was stuck in space on an alien planet, making the best of his situation with whatever plants he could find.

Will he ever make it back to Earth to see Abigail? Or will he just putz around with Adam Strange and Hawkgirl for a while?

We’ll find out in issues 57-64!

We return to Alan Moore’s classic series with Volume 4: A Murder of Crows, which collects issues #43-50 where we get some nice redesigns of Swamp Thing’s flora.

We also tie into the Crisis and meet lots of other heroes, plus we get some more insight into what John Constantine is like.

Then we move onto our next long read with Earth X #0, which is set in the future… we think. It’s hard to tell after this introductory issue.

We haven’t quite hit spooky season yet but we really wanted to get back into some Swamp Thing, so we’re diving back into Alan Moore’s run from the 80’s with the 3rd collected volume which covers issues #35-42.

The series takes on a bit of a different form with the first appearance of Constantine as he sends Swamp Thing on freak-of-the-week adventures around the US.

Then we get into some multiverse shenanigans as we start a scattered new long-read focused on Earth-2 heroes. First up is DC Super-Stars #17, featuring the origin of Batman and Catwoman’s daughter: Huntress!
