Some of My Friends Read Comics 233 – Iron Man: Doomquest + Thunderbolts #6

It occurs to us that we’ve never actually read an Iron Man comic, and with the recent dual-casting of Robert Downey Jr. as both Iron Man and Doctor Doom, we decided to take a look at Doomquest from Iron Man #149 & 150. The metal bros travel back in time to (friend of the show) the medieval era!

Doctor Doom rides a horse and that’s enough reason to read this comic.

Then we move onto our long read of Thunderbolts with issue #6 which requires a periodic table to enjoy.

Some of My Friends Read Comics 166 – The Eternals (2006) by Neil Gaiman & John Romita, Jr. + The Life & Times of Scrooge McDuck #7

What is an Eternal?

They got a whole movie but we have no idea. We decided the Neil Gaiman & John Romita, Jr. 6-issue miniseries from 2006 would be a decent place to start. Apparently it was so good they gave it a 7th issue! Wow, good job Eternals.

And of course, we continued our read of The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck with issue #7.

The number 7 is all over this episode. Numerology nerds take note.

Some of My Friends Read Comics 016 – Spider-Man and the Origin of the Hobgoblin

The majority of Spider-Man’s most memorable villains have been around since the early days when he was still under the care of Stan Lee, but one of the few mainstays he didn’t create was the Hobgoblin.

In this episode, we take a look at Roger Stern’s run with Spidey to see what makes Ol’ Hobby so much more special than just the Green Goblin with a new paint job.

We also get to witness Peter “THE ANIMAL” Parker in his most ridiculous wardrobe ever.
