That Was a Game – Shrek: Ogres & Dronkeys

SOMEbody once told me Shrek 1 turns 20 years old this week, which means it’s high time to find the weirdest Shrek game out there: Ogres & Dronkeys. It’s a pet simulator from WayForward (yup, that awesome WayForward) where you raise Shrek & Fiona and Donkey & Dragon’s children.

That Was a Game – S3E03 – Kirby Mass Attack

If one Kirby is good, then ten Kirbys are great! Kirby Mass Attack is a touchscreen-only DS game where you lead a party of ten Kirbys to swarm enemies and destroy obstacles.

If it sounds like a Pikmin platfomer, you’re not wrong!

Also Kirby Mass Attack has cool minigames like a spaceshooter, RPG, and a pinball game as big as Kirby’s Pinball Land.

That Was a Game – Season 2, Episode 4: Dragon’s Lair 3D: Return to the Lair

The 1980’s arcade classic Dragon’s Lair was updated for Gamecube and the original Xbox in 2002 as a cel-shaded 3D platformer.

Released before The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Dragon’s Lair 3D: Return to the Lair has janky controls and incredibly cheap deaths, but an incredibly cool art style that evokes the original game.

Also, a bonus look at the Game Boy version of Toy Story!
