Madness! Chaos! Anything goes! It’s Assistant Editors’ Month at Marvel!

Back in 1984, when all the head editors were off at conventions, they handed the reigns over to their assistants who had a lot of fun with their freedom.

We read Thing #7, Defenders #127, Avengers #239, Dazzler #30, and the infamous takedown of Galactus by Aunt May and Franklin Richards in Marvel Team-Up #137.

We also finished out JLA/Avengers #4!

When Batman is dead, who gets to take over Detective Comics? Batwoman!

With issue 854, Kate Kane became the star of the title and creators Greg Rucka and J.H. Williams III made sure she stepped up to the plate.

It’s not often that we get to talk about werewolves and lesbian tuxedo meet-cutes in the same episode, but here we are. Join us for Batwoman: Elegy.

Also, we near the homestretch of Crisis on Infinite Earths with issue 10, as our characters abandon the issue’s plot halfway through to do something way more interesting. And Wildcat once again is nowhere to be seen.

It’s April Fools Day and Chris played one hell of an unintentional prank on us by choosing Not Brand Echh for this week’s episode.

We read the first three issues of Stan Lee’s 1967 attempt to make a Marvel comedy magazine and, to be honest, we had a pretty great time ripping this thing to shreds while searching for any jokes.

It also gave us a great chance to talk about a bunch of other funny comics that are actually worth reading! All that and more on today’s Bum Of My Bends Bead Bomics!
