Hush up y’all, this week we’re checking out one of the biggest Batman storylines of the 2000s with Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee’s Husssshhhhh [emphasis mine] from Batman #608-619.

We’re reading the first 6 issues in which we learn that Batman had a best friend named Tommy who has somehow never been mentioned in any comic before this one.

There’s also a mystery bad guy who barely shows up. 

Cool. 

Then, we’re getting real close to the end of the first Thunderbolts storyline in issue #11, which features zappy mind control laser beams!

Some of My Friends Read Comics 123 – Batman & Ra’s Al Ghul + Marvels: Eye of the Camera #3

It’s finally time for us to cover one of Batman’s greatest villains: a leopard! (Actually, it’s Ra’s al Ghul, but the fight with the leopard looked cooler).

We take a look at Old Ghoulie’s first appearance in Batman 232 and then his first rise from a Lazarus Pit in issues 243 and 244. All by Dennis O’Neil and Neal Adams.

And do we have to keep mentioning Marvels: Eye of the Camera? We’re on issue 3.

In 1988, DC Comics urged the American people to exercise their right to vote by calling a 900 number and deciding the fate of Robin #2, Jason Todd.

The people were not kind to Jason.

We read “Batman: A Death in the Family” from issues 426-429 by Jim Aparo & Jim “Infinity” Starlin. Does anybody actually call him that? Anyways, this book doesn’t get very cosmic, but we do get the Joker/Ayatollah team-up we didn’t know we needed.
